Can the telematics device be fitted to all cars?
Yes, the telematics device can be fitted to all cars.
Where is the device fitted and who installs it?
The device will either be a professionally fitted device or you will be sent a device by our agents with instructions on how to self-install it.
Can I drive other cars?
Only in the event of an emergency and provided that the policy schedule and your certificate of motor insurance says so, we will also cover you, for your liability to other people while you are driving any other private motor car which you do not own or have not hired or leased. Will you cancel my policy if I break the speed limit?
It is a well known fact that speeding is a major contributory factor to road accidents. Whilst going slightly over the speed limit from time to time will not affect your policy, persistent or excessive speeding will impact your driving score, and will also lead to your insurance premium rising at renewal.
Will my policy be cancelled if I go over 160Kph?
Dangerous speeds are treated seriously. Driving at/or over 160Kph would probably result in an instant ban if you were caught by the Gardai and we believe that, as this is a policy aimed at safe drivers, anyone driving at such an illegally high speed is not suitable for such a product. As a result we would write to you and provide you with seven days’ notice of cancellation before your policy is terminated.
What are my telematics mileage options?
When purchasing the telematics insurance policy you need to consider how many Kilometres you will drive per annum. We would recommend that you purchase the required number of “Policy Kms”. When initially purchasing the insurance, you can pick a range of policy Kilometres as follows: • 5,000 kms • 8,000 kms • 10,000 kms • 12,000 kms • 15,000 kms • 20,000 kms • 25,000 kms
